Y&R Post-COVID | 1 Year of The Weekly #WTF on Y&R

Y&R Post-COVID… After the show took a COVID hiatus as many shows did, social distancing was in place, except for couples already couples in real life. Finally, equal opportunity intimacy on Young & the Restless is back.

Continue to celebrate 1 year of Weekly #WTF on Y&R

Y&R Post-COVID: Yet With Restrictions, A Breath of Fresh Air

(Almost) the only thing COVID about Y&R Post-COVID was social distancing. This was except for couples already couples in real life.

Sharon Case (Sharon Newman) & Mark Grossman (Adam Newman) are still together. Also, not only are Bryton James (Devon Hamilton) & Brytni Sarpy (Elena Dawson) still together, they recently wed.

Even though Sharon & Adam have not indulged in an intimate relationship (in the past year), they were able to be closer than 6 feet apart in light of their off-screen relationship. Adam needed counseling & Sharon of course fulfilled that need ~~ on her couch.

Devon & Elena were together on the show & were close. That was until Elena cheated on Devon with Nate (somehow without touching). Whoever superimposed that super hot (technically) socially distanced love-making at the clinic deserves recognition & a raise.

The temporary social distancing was totally tolerable in exchange for Young & the Restless not including COVID in their writing. No COVID talk, no masking, no vaccines or boosters ~~ Y&R as we knew it, but with temporary social distancing.

COVID-Confusion: Y&R Post-COVID & The Role of Ashland Locke

Even though COVID was almost avoided once Young & the Restless came off of hiatus, COVID confusion was lurking in the background. Over the 2021 holiday season, Richard Burgi who brought Ashland Locke to Genoa City tested positive for COVID.

He followed what he sincerely thought was the COVID quarantine protocol. It turns out that where he was experiencing COVID over the holidays did not have the same quarantine protocol as Y&R. Y&R’s protocol was longer.

Ergo, Richard Burgi out as Ashland Locke, & Robert Newman in to replace him.

Why was Richard Burgi let go? Victoria Newman had finally met her match personally & professionally when she met Ashland. Richard Burgi’s portrayal of Ashland was top-notch. Victoria & Ashland were married in Tuscany in what Victoria coined the Wedding of the Century. Despite Y&R easing back on the number of sets, they expanded the number of sets for Victoria & Ashland’s wedding.

Y&R Post-COVID | Victoria & Ashland Get Married

Since Ashland Locke has been recast & is now being played by Robert Newman, it’s come out that he’s been caught in another lie & his future with Victoria is at stake.

With this Ashland Locke swap out, The Wedding of the Century is a total waste of legacy footage. On the flip-flop, if Ashland’s days are now numbered in light of his latest lies, why replace this amazing character for the short term?

Something smells… If Richard Burgi’s exit was really COVID confusion, why wasn’t he simply suspended or held accountable otherwise without being let go?

Social Distancing is Gone, but Sex on Couches is On Full-Time on Y&R

Spacing between Y&R characters is not only gone, it’s even closer than ever, but on couches. Not only living room couches but couches in the office as well.

Less Sets but More Sex (on Couches) on Y&R

Apparently, the “new norm” on Y&R is that no one has a bed… Except for Noah Newman. Young, single, & ready to mingle Noah Newman has a bed at one of his parent’s houses.
