Where the heck is Dresbach, MN? Great question. Pete’s Bar in Dresbach is located along The Mighty Mississippi.

Despite Dresbach (pronounced Dres-back) being a tiny river town (technically a township), Dresbach somehow has 2 exits off I-90 when traveling east. When traveling west along I-90 just a few miles of La Crosse, there is just one exit to access this township.

However, in case you miss the one Dresbach heading eastbound, simply take the next exit into Dakota, MN & head right along the river. Dresbach & Dakota are adjacent & along the Mighty Mississippi just off of I-90 in Winona County.

Pete’s Bar is the perfect example of a local-low-key-neighborhood-bar.

Everyone is friendly, the beer is cold & cheap, & bar pizza is available. Entertainment-wise, Pete’s Bar features dartboards & dart leagues, meat raffles, & bean bag leagues in the summer.

Heads up, however… The Dresbach locals will know if you are also local (or not) by how you pronounce their township’s name.

Regardless if you can say Dresbach correctly, Coors Light bottles are just 2 bucks. Have cash on hand or use their on-site ATM to settle up & tip your bartender. Coors Light bottles aren’t the only beverage for 2 bucks.

Off-sale is available. Yes, Pete’ Bar in Dresbach, MN has off-sale. Perhaps stop in for 1 or 2 & grab a quick 6-pack or more to supplement any space you may have freed up in your cooler during your travels.

Bar pizza is available at Pete’s Bar in Dresbach for a quick meal, a snack to share, or something quick to take home.

Finally, there may or may not be a friendly dog also visiting with the regulars & visitors to Pete’s Bar. It’s not common, but it can happen.

Perhaps a stop at Pete’s Bar is not in the cards. Great news if you’re traveling west on I-90 out of La Crosse, WI towards either Albert Lea or Winona, MN — the Dresbach Welcome Center.

When traveling out of Wisconsin into Minnesota, the Dresbach Welcome Center is the first exit after crossing the Minnesota state line. This facility is located at Lock & Dam # 7 along the Mississippi River. There is ample room to relax & to take a break from traveling both inside & outside.

Travelers have been known to pick up take-out from a restaurant either in Onalaska or La Crosse just off of I-90 on the Wisconsin side for an impromptu picnic meanwhile enjoy the Mississippi River Bluffs & the Lock & Dam (#7).

If you end up having second thoughts about stopping by Pete’s Bar after an impromptu picnic at the Dresbach Welcome Center, keep in mind Pete’s does have off-sale.
