Soap Opera Stars Back from the Dead “New” Characters on Y&R
The deceased Cassie Newman is now Mariah Copeland. Hillary Curtis is now Amanda Sinclair. Don Diamont, formally the now deceased Brad Carlton on Y&R & now alive & well on The Bold & the Beautiful swings by back from the dead as the currently living Bill Spencer, Jr.
What if instead of killing off soap opera stars & then bringing them back as a twin, we just keep them on the show & hire other soap opera stars & go another direction storyline-wise?
Camryn Grimes: Back from the Dead on The Young & the Restless
Years & years ago we first met Camryn Grimes on Y&R when she played Cassie Newman. Cassie Newman is the biological daughter of Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) & the adopted daughter of Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow).
Cassie Newman passed away as a teenager after being involved in a car accident. Her boy crush at the time ended up drunk & passed out in the back seat of his car.
Without a driver’s license or much experience driving at all, Cassie decides to drive her boy crush Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei).
Things don’t go well. There’s an accident. Daniel is minimally injured & survives. Cassie is severely injured & eventually passes away.
Now we have Mariah Copeland, played by Camryn Grimes.
Mariah Copeland first appeared as Cassie Newman’s ghost. This effort was sponsored by Victor Newman in an effort to keep Sharon & Nick from getting back together by driving Sharon completely crazy.
Long story short, it’s proven that Mariah Copeland is the twin daughter of Sharon Newman & Cassie’s twin sister.
Currently, Mariah is a lesbian lover with Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) who prior to her & Mariah getting together, was dating Mariah’s brother Noah Newman (Rory Gibson).
Mishael Morgan: From Hilary Curtis to Amanda Sinclair on Y&R
We originally met Mischael Morgan on Y&R when she played Hillary Curtis. Like Cassie Newman, Hillary Curtis later passed away due to complications after being involved in a car accident.
Hillary Curtis was kind of a bitch. She did marry Devon, then Devon’s Dad (Neil Winters), & then Devon again. Other than that, standard bitchiness.
So while Hillary Curtis died, Mischael Morgan obviously did not. Apparently, Mishael & the Y&R were finally able to negotiate a contract beneficial to both parties.
Now we have Amanda Sinclair…
It’s shocking *sarcasm* that the other soap opera stars on Y&R are shocked at Amanda Sinclair’s uncanny resemblance to the deceased Hillary Curtis.
While Attorney Amanda Sinclair came in with questionable motives & seemed totally off base, she now actually doesn’t seem that bad.
Over time she has become both a trusted employee & a friend to some, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil).
It also turns out that like Mariah Copeland, Amanda Sinclair has a deceased twin sister, Hillary Curtis.
Currently, it’s quite obvious that she is sleeping with Devon Hamilton (Bryton James). Yes, Devon is sleeping with his deceased dead wife’s twin.
Don Diamont: Dead as Brad Carlton on Y&R, Alive as Bill Spencer Jr. on B&B
Ongoing fans of Y&R remember Brad Carlton, played by Don Diamont.
Brad Carlton had at least a 10-year run on the show before drowning in the lake after saving Noah Newman, the grandson of Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).
While Brad Carlton has been long gone from Y&R, Don Diamont has been playing the role of Bill Spencer Jr. on Y&R’s sister soap, The Bold & the Beautiful.
In light of the recent sister soap cross-over beginning with Sally Spectra’s arrival from LA to Genoa City to start a new life & then Summer Newman (Hunter King) & Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) visiting LA to get some scoop on the new girl in town.
Enter in, Bill Spencer Jr. to check up on Sally Spectra in Genoa City, played by Don Diamont.
