Y&R’s Connor Doesn’t Have Cancer, He Has OCD
Yes, for sure… Mental health concerns & challenges need to be taken seriously while also being addressed. It’s because of Young & the Restless that many people across the country learned about 988. Connor’s mother Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) has gone through her own mental health challenges.
While seriously considering taking one’s life is about as definitely as serious as a cancer diagnosis, OCD is not.
Now the Newmans Care About Connor, Yet Not Adam
Connor’s OCD is real & now the Newmans have gone OCD about his OCD.
While it’s sweet that the whole family including Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) seems to care about Connor’s OCD diagnosis, Connor’s dad Adam Newman (Michael Mealor) still cannot catch a break. Victoria even has her new daughter Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) wired to dislike & disrespect Adam.
However, in true Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) fashion, she has no idea that Connor has been diagnosed with OCD. Wait, has Abby even met Claire yet, or just in Claire’s dream? Regardless, Abby hates her brother Adam also.
To the East Coast Powered by the Newman Jet on Y&R
Even Golden Boy Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) is OCD about Connor’s OCD. Nick offered up the Newman Jet for Adam to take Connor & his mother Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) to the east coast. Then the Almighty Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) offered up the Newman Jet himself after learning about Connor’s OCD.
…& why can’t Adam Newman use the Newman Jet on demand as the other Newman’s do? It’s not like the best of tabs are kept on the Newman Jet. When Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) was supposed to briefly meet Claire’s Aunt Jordan (Colleen Zenk) before visiting her sister no one had a clue that the Jet never left Oregon as planned.
