The fabulous Lauren Fenmore made an impromptu appearance on Young & the Restless this week, & y’all lost your minds. Every time I post about her, the comments say the same two things… 1) She’s fabulous. 2) She needs her own storyline.
Yes & yes. The question is, what would that storyline be?
Lauren Can’t Cheat on Michael Again
Let’s get this one out of the way. Lauren Fenmore (Tracey E. Bregman) already went down that road with Carmine, & it was a mess. Now she & Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) are one of the most beloved couples in Genoa City.
Nobody wants to see that blown up. Lauren & Michael are the couple that actually works. Leave them alone.
Get Fabulous by Fenmore’s
Here’s my pitch. Bring Fenmore’s back on screen.
Lauren is fashion. She’s always been fashion. Put her back in the boutique, give her a new line & let her dress half of Genoa City in something fabulous. Forget my usual StitchFix plug. I want to get Fabulous by Fenmore’s!
Better yet, give her some competition. Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) has been dressing brides for years. Lauren vs. “That Dress Woman” in a full-blown fashion war? Sign me up. In fact, sign up all of the Y&R legacy fan community.
Give Her Family Drama
Lauren is a mom first. Her son Fen is out there somewhere, & soap sons don’t stay out of trouble for long. Fen coming home with a problem only Lauren & Michael can fix gives her a reason to be on screen every day.
Michael would be right there with her, & for once, Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) problems could wait. Lauren & Michael working a crisis together is the kind of storyline that writes itself.

Lauren Deserves More Than a Cameo
Tracey E. Bregman has been playing Lauren since 1983. She’s one of the most fun women on the show, & fans light up every time she walks into a room. That kind of reaction deserves more than a pop-in when the plot needs a fabulous friend.
Over on Young & the Restless, the writers keep looking for new stories. Here’s an easy one. Give the people more Lauren.
