For the love of everything in Soap Opera Land, can we put all the kidnapping in Genoa City on pause? Why does Sharon Newman have to win at the most-kidnapped-most-often? It seems like you aren’t anyone unless you have been kidnapped in Genoa City at least once.

Y&R’S SHARON WINS MOST KIDNAPPED IN GENOA CITY
Can Young & the Restless get a storyline featuring Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) without her full-time crying? She’s been kidnapped twice. Her son Noah Newman (Lucas Adams) was briefly kidnapped alongside his married gal-pal, Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun). Now, Sharon’s daughter, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), has kidnapped the baby she gave birth to that isn’t hers, Dominic Abbott Newman Chancellor Winters (Ethan Ray Clark).

First of all, Sharon Newman should stop wearing shirts with sparkles. Two of the last two times she’s been kidnapped, she’s been all sparkled up. Y&R fans get nervous each time she has worn sparkles since then. She does have other shirts, right?
At least Sharon got a sort of new best friend out of the second kidnapping, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). It wasn’t long ago that Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) had Phyllis kidnapped as she was faking her death before she killed him. Phyllis could use a break, too.
AT LEAST NIKKI GOT A BATHROOM, CLAIRE GOT A DEAD WOMAN
It’s been a couple of years since Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) newest & most favored granddaughter, Claire Grace now Newman (Hayley Erin), kidnapped her with the help of her Aunt Jordan (Colleen Zenk). Claire only fed Nikki vodka, but at least Nikki had a bathroom, unlike Mariah Copeland when she was pregnant with Abby Winters’ (Melissa Ordway) baby, Dominic.
Well, tit for tat… Aunt Jordan kidnapped Claire after & stuck her with a dead woman in a storage unit in Genoa City. Claire’s reinstalled parents, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) & the now passed-on Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck), found her, but as far as Y&R fans know, that dead woman is still dead in that storage unit.
Aunt Jordan kidnapped little Harrison (Redding Munsell), too, but he was all cute with his jammies on & just taken to the hotel-motel outside of Genoa City. He ended up being fine & is doing well for a little boy who has been through so much.
So, the kidnapping in Genoa City isn’t going to stop. Who’s next? It seems like on social media, soap opera fans wouldn’t mind if Devon Winters (Bryton James), Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), &/or Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) spent some time off-screen.
