Y&R Fan Rant: Could Nikki Newman BE More Exhausting?

Could Nikki Newman BE more exhausting right now on Young & the Restless? Sure, Nikki has the glam, but she is just as much glam as she is needy. Can this woman do anything for herself? Nikki, as CEO of Chancellor Industries, is a joke. Nikki being a best friend is a joke. It’s seriously gotten to the point that Y&R fans miss “Drunk Nikki.”

Nikki’s Jack & Victor Situation Is Pure Hypocrisy

Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) has spent years telling anyone who will listen that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) is her person,  her sober companion, & her confidant. The one man who has shown up for her consistently when Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) was too busy being Victor Newman. Jack supported her sobriety, held her accountable, & genuinely cared about her well-being in ways that did not come with a side of manipulation. Now Victor has kidnapped Jack & Nikki is out here conflicted about it. Conflicted??!! The man who has saved her sobriety more times than her own husband is currently being held captive on a boat & Nikki Newman is torn. That is not a character flaw. That is a whole personality disorder.

Y&R’s Audra Charles Deserved Better & Nikki Knows It

Here is a thing that happened. Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) quietly showed up for Nikki during her struggles with alcoholism. Deeply personal for Audra, whose own father battled the same disease. Audra did not have to do that. Nobody asked her to do that. She did it anyway because she is actually a decent human being underneath all the corporate ambition.

Nikki’s response was to let Audra go. Just gone. No credit, no acknowledgment, no thank you…NOTHING. Nikki Newman will accept help from absolutely anyone & then forget they exist the moment she no longer needs them. Audra deserved better & Nikki absolutely knows it & has never once said so.

Nikki Needs Constant Saving, Yet Has Opinions About Everyone

Here is the thing about Nikki Newman that fans have been quietly noticing for years… She needs saving on a very regular basis.

Victor’s schemes, her drinking, various kidnappings, various crises, various moments of complete chaos.  Nikki Newman has required rescue more times than anyone should reasonably count, & yet somehow in between all of that, she has found the time to have very strong opinions about every woman in Genoa City who is not currently holding her hand through whatever the latest crisis happens to be. The audacity of judging Audra Charles, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), & basically anyone within a ten-mile radius while simultaneously needing a small army of people to keep you upright is genuinely breathtaking, & also kind of iconic… & that is honestly the most frustrating part of being a Nikki Newman fan.

Is Nikki Newman The Most High-Maintenance Woman in Genoa City?

Nikki Newman is glamorous, complicated, infuriating, & completely unable to function without a small army of people propping her up while she judges them for their choices.

So, is Nikki Newman the most high-maintenance woman in Genoa City, & at what point does someone hand her a bill for all the rescuing?
