That Look on Adam’s Face Said Everything
That Dress Woman was rocking a zebra-print jacket & a pregnancy glow, & Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) looked like someone just knocked the wind out of him. Sure, he played it cool. He even told Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) he’d come to the wedding as long as Billy was okay with it.
Please. That wasn’t a man thinking about RSVPs. That was a man thinking about what should have been.
Baby Ava Never Left Adam’s Heart
Let’s not forget why this hits Adam so hard. Back in 2023, Sally was pregnant with Adam’s baby, & they lost their daughter, Ava. That kind of grief doesn’t disappear just because you move on & start dating your ex-wife again.
Young & the Restless Head Writer Josh Griffith told Soap Opera Digest that Adam’s mindset is basically this: if he couldn’t protect the baby he lost, he’s going to protect this one. Sweet? Yes. Healthy? That’s debatable.
Adam Newman doesn’t do anything halfway. When he decides to protect someone, he goes all in, boundaries be damned. Ask anyone who has ever been on the receiving end of his “help.”
Billy Boy, You Might Want to Pay Attention
Remember who broke the pregnancy news to Adam in the first place? Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) himself. Billy Boy couldn’t wait to rub it in his rival’s face, & now Adam’s hand is the one on Sally’s belly. Karma has a sense of humor.

Even Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) isn’t buying Adam’s “I’m fine” act. Back in September, she pushed him to admit his reaction to Sally & Billy isn’t really about Billy at all. Adam confessed he’s worried this pregnancy could force Sally to relive losing Ava.

Audra Said What We Were All Thinking
While Adam was off checking on Nick, Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) sat down with Chelsea & got blunt. She told Chelsea she’s lucky pregnancy hormones have Sally forgetting everything Chelsea has done to her.
Ouch. Accurate, but ouch.
Then Sally came back to the table, grabbed both their hands, & thanked them for being there for her. She’s thrilled everyone has put the past behind them & started getting along.
Sally, sweetie, put down the prenatal vitamins & look around. Your ex just had his hand on your belly, his girlfriend is watching you like a hawk, & Audra has a front-row seat to all of it. The only person at that table who isn’t keeping score is you.
Nobody in Genoa City forgets anything. Nobody.
Deep Down, Adam Wishes That Baby Was His
I’ve watched enough Young & the Restless to know a longing stare when I see one. Adam can say he’s worried about Sally all day long. Every time he looks at that bump, he sees the family he & Sally never got to have.
Is he trying to steal Sally back? Not yet. Will he be standing a little too close when that baby arrives? I’d bet my remote on it. Wedding bells are coming for Sally & Billy, & with Adam this emotionally invested, I’m not convinced they’ll ring without a hitch.
Chelsea, honey, you saw it too. Don’t pretend you didn’t.
