Phyllis Sells Her Hotel, Throwback Thursday on The Young & the Restless
Almost out of nowhere, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is no longer the owner of the Grand Phoenix.
Not long after Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) relocated with her family to Milan to work for Marchetti, Summer offered Phyllis a position to work alongside her.
Phyllis considered the offer & even selling the Grand Phoenix if the position in Milan at Marchetti worked out. Another option Phyllis considered was promoting Crystal to run the Grand Phoenix.
After Phyllis interviewed with Summer in person in Milan & mulled over relocating, she decided to stay in GC & continue to own & operate the Grand Phoenix.
That’s until Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) returned back from the dead & to Genoa City…
Diane Drives Phyllis to Marchetti & Out of the Grand Phoenix on Y&R
Diane back from the dead & being accepted by her son Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) & his family drives Phyllis almost insane.
Phyllis is finally pushed off the deep end after Kyle & Summer hire Diane on at Marchetti after they relocated the company to GC.
The combination of hatred, jealousy, & OCD concerning Diane’s return drives Phyllis to not only revisit the option of working for Marchetti with Summer but actually to secure a position.
That being a position senior to Diane in PR. Out of nowhere, Phyllis is hired to run Marchetti’s newest division, Marchetti Home.
To celebrate, Phyllis sells the Grand Phoenix…
Phyllis & Diane Forced Into Fake Friendship, or Out at Marchetti
It’s obvious that Phyllis was so off the rails that she did not consider the fallout of following through with selling the Grand Phoenix to Chancellor Winters. Sure, it was a good deal money-wise, but now she has to play nice with Diane Jenkins full-time.
The terms of both Phyllis & Diane’s employment at Marchetti include the both of them getting along. If either nemesis causes the other nemesis to have a negative reaction, they are both fired.
How long do you think Phyllis & Diane will last at Marchetti? They’ve already been let go & rehired once? Will Phyllis & Company somehow drive Diane back out of GC before things heat up again at Marchetti?
