So it was my 1st day doing this… I hit up a Drag Brunch @ UNION Rooftop this past weekend. The event was put on by Flip Phone Events. The theme was Britney & Christina. For me, it was more of a late lunch in lieu of a brunch as I don’t eat eggs.
It was a pleasant surprise learning that the UNION includes a “NOT BREAKFAST” section on their Solar Brunch event menu.
I went with the All-American Patty Cheese Burger with a side salad & blue cheese. Fries are an option sidewise as well.
Aside from dabbling a time or 2 inside the Gay ’90s during my college years, this event was new to me. I was drawn to the event as I find it hard to turn down a Saturday afternoon extreme field trip in either Minneapolis or St. Paul.

Purchasing tickets for this event is both easy & affordable.
My solo ticket to this drag brunch cost me just $14.65 including fees & I purchased it just one day prior to the event.
Purchasing a ticket to this event does oblige one to also purchase a brunch, however.
Having been at UNION Rooftop another time a few years back I knew their food was awesome & figured I would find something to order without eggs.
Drag Brunch Etiquette at Union Rooftop in Minneapolis, MN
I did not get the memo prior to this field trip, however, that it’s Drag Brunch Etiquette to have a stack of ones to tip the dancers throughout the event.
Since I was brand new, a bit nervous, & didn’t pre-game, I didn’t end up doing this. Next time attending an event like this I intend to follow etiquette now being just a bit seasoned.
Drag Brunch at Union Rooftop, Brunch or Lunch… & Drinks!
The event lasts for 2 hours. During this time one must order brunch or “NOT BREAKFAST.”
Bottomless Mimosas are available for $15.95 & Premium Bottomless Mimosas are available for $30.
Otherwise, full-bar beverages are available.
Throughout the event, the dancers come out one by one to entertain…
These entertainers certainly have the moves. Then all of a sudden they hit the floor doing the splits. It’s crazy how bendy these dancers are…
The dancers obviously respond to the dollar bills being handed their way.

As you are likely inferring, the more dollar bills you give the more attention they provide you.
With temps well into the 80’s the fashion changes & the entertainment were especially impressive.
This event was for sure another outstanding people-watching opportunity in Minneapolis.
Public Restroom Analysis
My 1st order of business upon arrival & checking in was to use the restroom. While there are public restrooms on the rooftop @ The UNION, I was surprised that they were not unisex such as the public restrooms I encounter at Starbucks & Caribou Coffee.
On my way into the ladies, I met an individual with a full beard exciting it. I suppose the reason we’re not dealing with unisex restrooms here is that the event is put on by Flip Phone Events & not the actual restaurant.
Ergo, no discretion is allowed by the event planner on how the public restrooms are set up in the said venue.
