Phyllis all of a sudden has a newfound motivation to work with her daughter at Marchetti.
Phyllis & Diane are in at Marchetti & only one survives… Lily to hire Diane at the Grand Phoenix?

Marchetti Gets Crowded, Diane to Run Lily Winter’s New Hotel
Rivals Diane Jenkins & Phyllis Summers have both been hired on at Marchetti.
Diane’s motivation to take employment in an entry-level role at Marchetti is to keep things progressing with her son. She then thinks she will ultimately worm her way back into the Abbott Estate.
Coincidentally, as Diane was offered & did except the entry-level at Marchetti to work with her son & daughter-in-law, Phyllis was offered an opportunity to sell her hotel. Then, she stirred up an executive opportunity to be offered up to her at Marchetti by her daughter Summer Newman (Allison Lanier).
If Phyllis sells the Grand Phoenix she’s going to need something to do. It’s obvious that driving Diane out of Marchetti & GC will be on tap coming up on Young & the Restless.
Will Phyllis drive Diane Jenkins out of Marchetti & out of Genoa City?… Or, to manage the Grand Phoenix lobby on behalf of Lily Winters?

Why isn’t it possible for Crystal (The Woman in the Green Dress played by Krystal Mosley) to run the hotel on Phyllis’ behalf? Divide & conquer, Phyllis… C’mon.
It’s all but certain that both Phyllis & Diane will not survive at Marchetti working with the children in close quarters.
How will Phyllis react if/when after she sells her hotel to Lily & hires Diane to run it & to keep Phyllis away?
