Drink the Fat… Well, when Ross almost drinks the fat is the BEST Friends episode. While this episode is technically titled, “The One Where No One’s Ready,” it often also goes by The One When Ross Drinks the Fat.
Let’s unpack this action-packed episode… After we see the fat…
Besides Ross, Phoebe was the only one ready for the Museum Benefit… Until she got the Hummus.
Yep, it wasn’t Christmas. Joey gave Phoebe the Hummus & Phoebe had to adapt…
Perhaps if Joey & Chandler weren’t having a childish yet hilarious argument over a chair, Phoebe wouldn’t have gotten the hummus ergo not having to cover it up with a giant Christmas bow.
Although, the hilarity of this entire episode piggybacks off of the chair & most of all, the essence (the cushions) of the chair.
Speaking of the essence of the chair, Joey took the essence & left Chandler with the chair sans essence. It turns out Chandler didn’t need the essence as he was assigned to talk Monica off of the ledge, or out of Richard’s voicemail box, along with Phoebe.
In the meantime, Chandler does find time to hide all of Joey’s underwear. Now, according to Joey, he still cannot get ready. Ross wonders why Joey simply cannot wear the underwear he has on now & deal with the missing underwear at another time.
Classic Joey… He’s not wearing any underwear & doesn’t see it proper to not wear underwear in a rented tux. We learn in this episode that Joey has some standards… & he knows the meaning of the word opposite.

Joey announces he’s going to do the opposite of Chandler hiding his underwear. Chandler wonders if Joey is going to show him his clothes & doesn’t care so much…
Joey exclaims “Opposite is Opposite!”… & departs to his apartment. Then…
Well, there were lunges… Many, many lunges in ALL of Chandler’s clothes as Joey isn’t wearing any underwear… Unless he was wearing Chandler’s underwear. He did say he put on EVERYTHING Chandler owned.
Ross’ #1 is still not ready & decides to catch up on her correspondence after being belittled in from of the others by him. Rachel’s not going… Until Joey jumps in with a great idea.

After Ross tells Rachel that he’ll do anything to persuade her to attend the museum benefit & Rachel isn’t having any of it, Joey suggests that Joey drink the fat.

Despite this episode also being known as The One Where Ross Drinks the Fat, Ross doesn’t drink the fat. Rachel stops him just in time. However, before all of this, friends did drink the fat… Monica & Joey, Joey did at least twice.
