The Newman Media Launch Party & The Grand Phoenix Lobby on
What happened to the Genoa City Athletic Club, the Collenade Room, Top of the Tower, or even the outdoor pool area & restaurant GC residents used to hang out at?
It seems the elite of Genoa City is limited to just the Grand Phoenix Hotel lobby or Society. No wonder Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) & Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) are planning their wedding in Italy.
Everyone’s grand entrances in their Genoa City best, all of the networking, & a wet-&-wild spat between Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) & Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) all happened in the Grand Phoenix hotel lobby.
While there was mention of speeches taking place in the ballroom, it seems only the speakers themselves, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) & Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) were inside the ballroom. Immediately following Adam Newman’s speech, the attendees were back in the lobby for networking & cocktailing.
If the ballroom at the Grand Phoenix were anything like the event venues of Genoa City’s past, wouldn’t have the entire event been held in the ballroom itself? WTF…
Adam & Sally Date, Their Entrance at the Newman Media Launch Party
Surprise! The CEO of Newman Media brought a date… Miss Sally Spectra.
While fans of Young & the Restless have mixed feelings regarding the pairing of Adam & Sally, Genoa City residents seem to be united in a hard-no reaction.
We didn’t get to see the reactions of no-shows Victoria, Ashland, & Newman Media employee Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson), however. The reactions of Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) & Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) are pending as they did not make the guest list to start with… Thanks to Adam Newman.
The only two Newman Media Launch Party attendees that like the idea of Adam Newman & Sally Spectra attending this event together are themselves.
Both the Abbotts & the Newmans understandably are upset with Sally Spectra as she in large part was behind not only Summer Newman’s (Hunter King) relocation to Italy but the eventual relocation of Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) & Harrison to reunite with Summer.
Then there is Phyllis… She has been onto Sally since she arrived in Genoa City from LA. From Sally stirring the pot in Summer & Kyle’s relationship to stirring up things for Summer at JCV to her “love” for the much older & wealthy Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), to Sally with the help of Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) getting Summer out of town to get her job at JCV to only to be fired from a short time later.
In light of all of Sally’s shenanigans in short order, one would think Sally would have burned all of the bridges in Genoa City & would be forced out of town…
Not so much. She’s now gainfully employed at Newman Media & is apparently the new love interest of the CEO.
Sally Spectra vs Phyllis Newman @ the Newman Media Launch Party
Apparently, Miss Sally Spectra has an obsession with messing with Phyllis Summers. Maybe it’s because Phyllis has kicked her out of the Grand Phoenix twice. Regardless, she already got Summer out of town so now Sally is left to stir the pot in Phyllis & Nick’s relationship.
If anyone in Genoa City needs to know when & where Phyllis & Jack Abbott have spent any amount of time together… Ask Sally Spectra.
It does seem that Phyllis & Jack have been confiding in one another a bit more since the relocation of their children sponsored by Sally Spectra. Does this just make sense or is Phyllis (‘Red’) & Jack Abbott’s reunion coming soon?
Perhaps… if Sally keeps stirring the pot. She certainly stirred things up at the Newman Media Launch & Phyllis reacted in true Phyllis Summers form… Phyllis always wins.
Long story short… Sally & Phyllis happen to be cocktailing in close proximity to one another, Sally questions Phyllis’ relationship with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) & her spending time with Jack, Phyllis questions why she is at this event, let alone with Adam, let alone even still in town… blah, blah, blah.
Sally tells Phyllis that she can go to hell & throws her drink at her. Phyllis immediately throws a conveniently located bucket of ice on her head.
It was beautiful. The. Best. Episode. In quite some time…
Even the most elite & well-known couples in Genoa City loved it ~~ Victor & Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott).
Adam & Sally Date & What Happens Next on Y&R…
Well… Adam & Sally Spectra kissed but did not have sex… because Adam is toxic, per him.
Adam did have to provide a speech at the Newman Media Launch party as CEO. While he is a toxic individual… So is Sally Spectra.
Adam & Sally date & hooking up is SO not off the table…
Mariah is Back… Still (Almost) No One Cares in Genoa City
Um, why is no one questioning how Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) was kidnapped in the first place? How did this happen?
Also, why is no one recognizing what strength Mariah was able to find & use to get through her & Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor’s (Melissa Ordway) unborn baby being held captive?
While Abby’s excitement about having her new baby is totally warranted, some taking care of the woman that carried her baby should also be warranted.
Besides some small talk at the Chancellor Mansion with Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks), Abby has not been all that focused on helping Mariah with the probable mental challenges she will be plagued with after being held captive while carrying someone else’s baby.
Abby is the daughter of the great Victor Newman. Again, why is she waiting to ask for help? Victor could be seeking out a specialized therapist to help Mariah through this.
For the love of God to not put this task in the hands of her incapable mother, Sharon.
The Woman in the Green Dress Has More Lines… With Billy Abbott
Finally… The Woman in the Green Dress (Krystal Mosley) has more lines. Although they were with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) while he was up to something, she actually traded lines with another Genoa City resident.
What’s next for The Woman with the Green Dress?… More lines.??.. A love interest?? She’s totally underutilized on the Y&R.
