Robert Newman on CBS, the New Ashland Locke: Version 2.0

The New Ashland Locke (Version 2.0) started right on point. Literally. His hand jesters, how he carries himself, & how he speaks is 110% reminiscent of Ashland Locke (Version 1.0) played by Richard Burgi.

But…

He’s barely even touched Victoria Newman (Ameilia Heinle), let alone kissed her…or even more.

It wasn’t long ago, Victoria & Ashland Locke 1.0 got down on the couch inside Victoria’s office at Newman-Locke. A couple of things… 1) Why are Y&R couples only getting intimate on couches? 2) Why doesn’t Ashland, regardless of version 1.0 or 2.0 have his own desk? Isn’t this some type of partnership?

What’s Ashland’s Deal with Peru & Why Does Victor Say it Weird?

Perhaps Ashland wasn’t “able” to get down with his wife this week as he has so much on his mind. It seems Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is onto another secret of Ashland’s, which he sent Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) to discover in Peru.

In related news, when Victor says Peru, he does so with an accent. It’s like listening to Giada back in the day on her cooking show on Food Network. She would speak perfect English without an accent. Then once it was time to mention a fancy type of pasta or cheese, all of a sudden she had an accent.

Another Double Date: Victor & Nikki Meet-up with Victoria & Ashland (Version 2.0)

Although Victor & Ashland had very different & thought out Valentine’s Day celebrations planned for their wives, their romantic lunch plans coincidentally brought them to the same restaurant. Obviously, the restaurant was Society & apparently Society is the only restaurant in Genoa City.

Regardless, great timing for Victor but not so much for Ashland… & Victoria.

It was evident to Y&R fans after watching Victor play high-quiz-bowl with Ashland how he found the miracle treatment in Peru that seems to almost have cured him. Ashland spills the beans very tactfully & includes that he has not shared this information with Victoria to protect her as not everything with the clinic has been on the up-&-up.

Victor tactfully alludes to things, mentions things, & insinuates all kinds of things during the double date. Victoria isn’t dumb. She catches on at least a bit. Once they get back to Newman-Locke & sit down on the couch (not their couch at home, but the couch at the office), Ashland is all but forced to open up & level with Victoria on his involvement with the clinic & cancer treatments in Peru.

Victoria obviously isn’t happy. What a great reason to not make out with the updated version of your husband that could pass well past your father & is for pushing grandfather in the visual age gap at least. Victoria does keep herself up very well, after all.

Y&R’s New Ashland Locke, Robert Newman on CBA & What Happens Next

It appears that Victoria & the New Ashland will continue to not make out & will instead attempt to set Adam up to be let go from Newman Media, ergo Newman-Locke. All the while Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) & Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will be making out, & maybe more…

In other Genoa City news, Dominic Newman Abbott Winters Chancellor is under the weather & has had blood work done with pending results. Previews for next week suggest that Dom’s blood results are not favorable. What will Dom’s parenting team be dealing with? Maybe Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) isn’t actually his biological dad?… Y&R fans can hope.
