The 2026 Daytime Emmys are October 30, & Young & the Restless has three guys up for Supporting Actor. One of them is Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic).
Nate Hastings. For what?
He’s a Nice Guy, I Guess
I’ll give Nate this. He’s pleasant, he’s easy on the eyes & he always looks pulled together in a crisp button-down shirt. Sean Dominic has been playing him since 2019, & this looks like his first Emmy nomination. Good for him.
Still, I have to ask. What has Nate REALLY brought to any of the tables in Genoa City?
Let’s Review the Nate Highlights
- The doctor who stopped doctoring. He was a surgeon, couldn’t operate anymore & traded scrubs for a corner office.
- The cousin move. He got involved with Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) while she was with his cousin, Devon Winters (Bryton James). Classy.
- The boss move. He hopped into bed with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) & swore it wasn’t about climbing the Newman ladder. Sure, Nate.
- The Audra era. Then came Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver), because Nate never met a power couple he didn’t want to try.
That’s a lot of beds. It’s not a lot of storyline. Nate’s biggest moments have come from who he’s sleeping with, not from anything he’s actually done.

The Competition Is Stacked
Nate is up against two of his own castmates: Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) & Matt Clark (Roger Howarth). Three Young & the Restless guys in one category means they could split the vote, & I don’t see Nate coming out on top.
Will Nate Win?
Probably not. If Y&R wants Nate in the Emmy conversation next year, give him a storyline that isn’t about whose sheets he’s on. Make him the problem for once. Better yet, put him back in an operating room.
Tomorrow, #6: Camryn Grimes as Mariah Copeland.
What has Nate Hastings brought to Genoa City? It’s not my first day watching Y&R & it isn’t yours either. What’s your take?
