As for 2023 versus 2024 things did not change for either Kyle Abbott or Nick Newman. They both have a ton in common & are both still stupid. However, a couple of Y&R fan favorites did change. Chance Chancellor can’t solve a jigsaw puzzle & Adam Newman has forced himself out of love & being happy. GC’s finest men definitely kept things competitive in 2024…
Let’s rant, Young & the Restless fans!!…
Anything can happen in Genoa City on Young & the Restless, but fans being ‘Team Diane’ was not on any fan’s bingo card this year & yet it was called. Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) is not only stupid, he’s annoying & more. His face cringes crush any other faces on Y&R.
In addition to being stupid, we can throw in being completely disrespectful to everyone who he lives with, including Mrs. Martinez. That poor lady ends up with Harrison (Redding Munsell) all of the time without notice & without any appreciation. Yes, Harrison is a great kid, but there should be some boundaries.
Kyle Abbott has not heard of boundaries, however. Meanwhile disrespecting his parents personally & professionally, Kyle was running around Genoa City claiming to be looking for a house with a yard for him & Harrison. Kyle Abbott was/is full of crap & there’s no end in sight of him living inside the Abbott house.
Coming soon, Young & the Restless fans are wondering how confused Harrison will be when Kyle starts having his new girlfriend/Harrison’s ex-nanny Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) over for sleepovers. That kid has been through so much already & is doing well despite getting a new biological father, his biological mother going to jail, his updated parents getting divorced, & recently being kidnapped.
How? Seriously, how did Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) not notice Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) talking to Dead Cameron (Linden Ashby) all of those times? It was more than obvious to Young & the Restless fans that Sharon Newman was talking to a dead man. Even when she was not talking with Dead Cameron, she was looking at him & oftentimes it would be all of a sudden during a conversation with Nick Newman.
However, right before the 2024 buzzer, Nick Newman has redeemed himself for the year. It wasn’t GCPD Detective Chance Chancellor (Connor Floyd) who thought of testing Sharon Newman’s meds to see if they had been tainted or otherwise messed with, it was Genoa City’s newest DIY detective Nick Newman & he was right. Sharon’s bipolar medication had been laced with PCP & now she’s on her way to being redeemed as well on Y&R.
Detective Chance Chancellor is lucky he’s sexy because even though he’s trained & employed as a detective in Genoa City, he is seriously unable to find his way out of a paper bag, let alone solve a crime in short order. Chance Chancellor seriously bought into the evidence obviously planted in Daniel Romalotti’s (Michael Graziadei} apartment to frame him for Heather Stevens’ (Vail Bloom) murder.
Chance claimed he was just doing his job & then blamed the District Attorney for Daniel’s arrest. After that arrest, there will be another thing he won’t be finding & that is his last lover Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) alongside him in any bed anywhere in Genoa City naked.
Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) & Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) were hot & entertaining enough to Young & the Restless fans to be this soap opera’s next power couple. Hot, hot, & then some more hot. Adam & Sally were SO hot!!… & then Adam Newman made it stop.
Yes, Adam & Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) son has OCD & they have their own version or OCD about Connor Newman’s (Judah Mackey) OCD. Adam & Chelsea were working together to max out being parents of the year & ended up in bed together. Blame it on the booze. Blame it on the emotions, but don’t freaking lie.
Chelsea is almost always nuts. If there were to be fall out after ‘that night in Baltimore’ it was expected to be directed by Chelsea, not Adam. Chelsea wanted to do the right thing & level with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) who she was in love with & dating at the time. Adam put both of his feet down & mandated a hard ‘NO.’ Eventually the details of ‘that night in Baltimore’ came out & Adam & Chelsea’s respective lovers Sally & Billy were not having any of it. Then apparently since Chelsea’s mind was already lost, Adam thought he should join the club & has been asking Chelsea to entertain a relationship rebound, but only when Sally isn’t in ear shot. When Sally is in ear shot, Adam begs for a relationship reboot with her.
In between being desperate for any woman who will take him back, sometimes even Sharon Newman at times, Adam Newman finds a quick moment to punch Billy Abbott in the face.
Sure, Young & the Restless is a soap opera, but can this stupid men grow up in Genoa City?
