Chance Chancellor is Back in Genoa City… But Don’t Tell Anyone
Last week we got Chance back & a real baby for him & Abby. No one was supposed to tell anyone Chance is alive (let alone back in Genoa City), but everyone did… & then they had a party.
Yes, after Abby talked Chance into heading back to Genoa City & was told not to tell anyone, a game of telephone ensued amongst the Genoa City related to Abby & Chance.
Before Y&R fans know it, everyone who knows Abby & Chance knows that Chance is still alive & on his way back home. Of course, Abby’s brother & current black sheep of the Newman family is the last to know.
One of the 1st to know was of course Nina, Chance’s mom. Yet, she hasn’t returned to Genoa City to reunite with her previously thought-deceased son. Couldn’t the Newmans or Abbotts have sent one of their jets to bring her back to Genoa City? Apparently, she’s in Australia, but still… these people have their own jets.
Almost as fast as everyone learned that Chance Chancellor survived the explosion in Spain, Victor & Nikki had a welcome-home party coordinated & planned with Phyllis at the Grand Phoenix.
Wait a minute… The Newmans (except for half of the time Nick Newman) do not like Phyllis & Phyllis does not like the Newmans (except for half of the time Nick Newman). Yet, Victor & Nikki Newman hire Phyllis & her hotel to put on Chance Chancellor’s Welcome-Home-So-Glad-You’re-Not-Dead Party. Anyway…

As per usual, Genoa City’s finest men arrived in suits.
By the way, when is the last time Y&R fans saw Jack Abbott in anything but a suit? Also, when is the last time we saw him or any of the employees at Jabot Cosmetics? Anyway…
The lady attendees arrived dressed upscale… Somewhat reminiscent of what Sharon Newman wears to manage Crimson Lights.
Both are lovely & well-suited to celebrate someone close to previously presumed dead.
However, when Sharon wears sparkly formals to Crimson Lights to manage during the day it simply does not make any sense.
Sure enough… The week that Sharon wears clothing suitable to manage a coffee house (not a sparkly formal prom-like gown), there’s a formal event in town where she would actually fit in.
Sometimes things simply work out. It was nice to (not) see Sharon invited to help Chance through his PTSD after the explosion in Spain, returning back to GC, resuming his youthful marriage, & becoming a father.
Perhaps we can finally give up on Sharon being a mental health professional…
Chance Chancellor is Back & What Happens Next on Y&R…
It’s clear that Chance is experiencing some challenges returning to civilian life, resuming being a husband, & becoming a father. No doubt there will be bumps in the road. However, it seems he has the support of all who know him & Abby. Let’s continue to keep Sharon out of it with her “training” & see how things shake out.
Noah’s social cue indicates to Y&R fans that he still has feelings for Tessa. It’s SO obvious. The jury is out, however, if Tessa &/or Mariah are picking up on these feelings. Tessa & Mariah seem to almost be back on track. It is clear that Mariah is still dealing with her own PTSD from being kidnapped while pregnant with Dominic. Why is it that still no one cares where Stitch is, let alone holding him accountable for kidnapping Mariah when she was carrying his ex-wife’s baby?
Billy Boy Abbott has a plan to get back at Victor & Adam that involves Apple Juice, apparently. Instead of going down the usual rabbit hole of alcoholism, gambling, & extremely poor decision-making… Billy Boy is going to fake it until he (hopefully) makes it. Since voluntarily stepping down from Chance Comm, he’s been found at Society during the day “drinking by himself.” Turns out he’s faking it… It’s just Apple Juice, Y&R fans. Not only is Billy faking it at Society, but Lily is also faking it with Victoria. The pitch Lily gave Victoria in her office on Billy’s pending self-destruction was on point… Totally bought by Victoria, & now Ashland, & likely whoever else she shares Lily’s “concerns” with.
Finally, Chelsea will be back in Genoa City next week! Not only will Chelsea be back, but she will be the same Chelsea played by Melissa Claire Egan as was before… Unlike Noah & Chance’s return to GC. There will be so much to unpack with her return. Where will Chelsea live?… Her & Adam’s former Pent House?… The Grand Phoenix? How will custody of Connor work? How will her working with Chloe & Sally work?
