Y&R: The Weekly #WTF

Y&R’s Genoa City & The Passage of Time for Nikki & Ashley

Y&R’s Genoa City & its current Passage of Time has been quite unbelievable, even for a soap opera. Nikki sobering up & the Abbott Jet going back & forth from Paris twice take the same amount of time…

This week’s Weekly #WTF on Y&R

Empty Glass Lounge, Nikki Newman Passes Out on Y&R

Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) enjoyed plenty of empty glasses at Genoa City’s finest dive bar, The Empty Glass Lounge.

Nikki emptied as many vodka-inspired cocktails in glasses as she could. Meanwhile, her husband Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) tries to rescue her from the bar, leaves to have a meeting with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), & finally, Victor returns to the Empty Glass with Jack for backup.

Y&R’s Genoa City A-Team successfully removed the passed out & intoxicated Nikki Newman from the Emply Glass. Then after a drive around town, Nikki was magically sober enough to have a serious conversation about her recovery at the Abbott Estate with Jack & Victor.

How?!?

The Abbott Jet Express, Paris to GC at Lightning Speed

On the other side of Y&R’s Genoa City, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) just arrived home from Paris. This is seemingly just after a few hours after Traci Abbott’s (Beth Maitland) return from Paris.

Even on a soap opera, how does a jet, even the Abbott Jet fly a person to Wisconsin from Paris & then fly back to Paris to bring another person back to Wisconsin within just a few hours?

Has something changed with The Passage of Time in Genoa City on Young & the Restless? Or, is this simply lazy writing by Josh Griffith?

Y&R’s Genoa City, Ladies Who Need Treatment on Y&R

There cannot be one loyal Young & the Restless fan out there who is not on board with Nikki Newman needing in-patient treatment to recover from the alcoholism that was forced on her by Aunt Jordan (Colleen Zenk) & Claire Grace (Hayley Erin).

Many Young & the Restless fans tend to agree that Nikki should have been put into treatment after returning to Genoa City in light of her history with alcohol, specifically vodka which Claire IV’d into her arm in Oregon. So, why in the world has Victor Newman not done everything in his power to get Nikki help? There might be a room open next to Claire’s at Memorial…

Victor Newman will always care about Ashley Abbott. Perhaps he can arrange a room at Memorial for her as well. Ashley Abbott has lost her damn mind & it continues to be MIA.

Seriously, there has been way less time spent on Young & the Restless looking into murder cases than if someone really did break a wine glass &/or threw a chair in a cafe in Paris.

Young & the Restless Fans, #WTF on Y&R?!?

Do you think Nikki or Ashley’s storyline will end first? Do you think that Nikki &/or Ashley will end up in Memorial?

What will happen when Ashley Abbott finally learns that her roommate/sister-in-law whom she’s hated forever, Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters), is Co-COO at her family legacy company, Jabot?
