Y&R: The Weekly #WTF

Y&R’s Ashland Locke is Dead, Robert Newman Out on CBS

Ashland Locke is dead & Robert Newman is out again on CBS. This time out from Young & the Restless.

Just after Y&R fans bought into Robert Newman following up Richard Burgi playing Ashland Locke, he’s taken off the show.

Now Young & the Restless fans are merely left with Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) boring podcasts & sad-bastard Devon Hamilton (Bryton James).

This week’s Weekly #WTF on the Y&R

Without a Body, Ashland Locke’s Return is Open Ended on Y&R

Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) came back from the dead & there was a body. Without Ashland Locke’s body, either Richard Burgi or Robert Newman would be able to easily blast back into GC at any time.

The last sudden death on Y&R was Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso). The Young & the Restless fans didn’t see his body as his service was in Florida. There’s not one current Y&R character that would have any interest in laying Ashland to rest, except maybe Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) or Diane?!?…

Hell, maybe Ashland & Rey really aren’t dead & they will both be back.

Ashland’s Ex-wife to Send for His Remains, & Her Son Harrison?!?

Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) has been in jail way too long for not physically hurting anyone. She has to either be out or be getting out soon. Perhaps she will send for Harrison’s father’s remains, & for Harrison.

With Ashland Locke presumed dead, there is no better time than right now for Tara Locke & Jesse Gaines (Jameson Jones) to hook up.

Tara & Jesse could team up to get Harrison back & claim any money Ashland Locke/Bobby DeFranco may still have out there abroad other than the Peruvian clinic that concealed Ashland’s farce of a cancer diagnosis.

Then Jesse could break up with Tara & pursue Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). Could Victoria & Jesse be Genoa City’s next hot couple?

What a Waste of Robert Newman on The Young & the Restless…

Many Y&R fans were also fans of Guiding Light & Robert Newman playing Joshua Lewis back in the day. Richard Burgi left big shoes to fill after being ousted because of some COVID confusion.

It wasn’t as easy as a light switch to be on board with Robert Newman as Ashland Locke. It took time. For many, it took until the car accident that resulted in Rey Rosales dying & Ashland saving Victoria from her burning vehicle. Finally, we saw passion.

Ashland Locke is Dead, Already… What Was the Point? (Y&R)

What exactly was the point of bringing Robert Newman on to play Ashland Locke to have another sudden death? Why didn’t they work things out with Richard Burgi until it was time to have Ashland killed off?

Do you think Ashland Locke is gone for good? If he isn’t, would you like to see him return in the form of Richard Burgi or Robert Newman? Let us know!

  • No! Newman and Heinle did not have chemistry nor physical attractiveness or believability as a couple. Burgi was better suited.

  • It is really sad to waste such talent, why bring him on at all. Hope Robert Newman can come back at a later date. I hope the door has been left open.
