It seems that Hunter King, Summer Newman 1.0 just shared with Allison Lanier, Summer Newman 2.0 about “Harrison’s Adoption” in Italy. With all of the screen time Harrison receives, it’s interesting his adoption hasn’t previously been mentioned.
What about Harrison’s last name? Is he still Harrison Locke as he was named at birth? Or, was he renamed Harrison Abbott during his make-believe adoption in Italy?

Summer Adopted Harrison, Since When on Y&R?
Did Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) just make up an adoption to get her grandfather Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) to help her in her custody battle against her ex-husband Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor)? It sure seems that way since they have never been any mention of Summer adopting Harrison ever, even when Summer Newman was played by Hunter King.
When Summer Newman (Hunter King) was living in Italy with Kyle & Harrison, she & Kyle were totally in love & totally in sync. While Young & the Restless fans didn’t get to see Summer & Kyle get married, they certainly heard about it as it was just before Victoria Newman’s (Ameilia Heinle) & Ashland Locke’s (Richard Burgi) wedding of the century, also in Italy.
Wouldn’t Y&R fans have heard about Harrison’s adoption during &/or after it took place? Young & Restless fans didn’t hear about Harrison’s adoption because it didn’t take place.
Harrison’s Biological Mother Never Gave Up Custody
Again, it’s time to beat the dead horse, apparently. Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) was arrested for a financial crime. That’s it. Genoa City residents on Young & the Restless have been arrested for actual violent crimes & did not lose custody of their children. In addition, Tara Locke never gave up custody of her son Harrison.

Kyle Abbott’s Non-biological Last Straw with Summer
Kyle Abbott’s last straw with Summer Newman to prevent her from being awarded sole custody of Harrison (Redding Munsell) is that she is not his biological mother & this is because Summer never adopted Harrison. If Summer Newman did adopt Harrison, Kyle Abbott would have an entirely different approach to Harrison’s custody battle.
Summer Spin or Y&R Writers Assume Fan Ignorance
Young & the Restless fans are left wondering if Summer Newman concocted Harrison’s adoption in Italy to get her grandfather Victor Newman to help her manage Kyle, or if Y&R writers again are assuming Y&R fan ignorance. Remember when “the Grand Phoenix was getting renovations” & all of the guests magically moved to the GCAC & nothing with the Genoa City hotel scene has changed since? Young & the Restless fans aren’t done, so which one is it?
