The Fabulous Lauren Fenmore Backs Up Nick Newman
Thank goodness for Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman). This week on Young & the Restless Lauren managed to be both Miss Right Place at the Right Time & Friend of the Week.
Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) Golden Boy son Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) was at least two too deep at the GCAC bar to help. Poor Nick, his ex-girlfriend got back together with his brother Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).
Lauren Fenmore hasn’t been at the forefront of activity in Genoa City for months, but this week she was a godsend for Nikki Newman. Seriously, when was the last time that Lauren & Nikki spent any time at all visiting one-on-one at the GCAC, Society, or Crimson Lights?
Out of nowhere as Nikki Newman is stumbling drunk in the GCAC lobby meanwhile her son is otherwise occupied, Lauren Fenmore appears & rescues Nikki.
Lauren Fenmore Rescues Nikki, Y&R’s Friend of the Week
If this soap opera story were a real-life story, would we call it Divine Intervention? Nikki Newman is understandably in rough shape after being forced off the wagon.
After she learned her beloved daughter Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) & her ex-husband Cole Howard (Eddie Peck) were granted permission to use the Newman Jet & a Newman security team for an impromptu trip, Nikki lost it. Rightfully so as the trip that Victoria requested with Cole also included Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) to confront her Aunt Jordan (Colleen Zenk) in jail.
Why wouldn’t Nikki Newman think that Claire & Jordan would collude if left face-to-face alone? It makes total sense. Nikki’s family along with Cole agreed, but they don’t have a reinstated drinking problem.
Speaking of Claire & Jordan & their possible reboot, what is up with Cole Howard? As the story was written, Cole received a text from Nikki to rescue Victoria in Oregon — no questions asked. He responded on demand after not being in touch with any of the Newmans for several years.
Why isn’t the Almighty Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) if no one else asking what motivated Cole Howard to drop everything to respond to the lake house in Oregon to help Victoria?
